What surprises us is that they remained open for as long as they did. The stores were always emptier than a bottle of vodka at Lyndsay Lohan’s table.

Conan O’Brien says screw you to NBC

Posted in Uncategorized by blogwing on 01/13/2010

Well not that eloquently but you get the picture. After NBC announced that it will be pushing Jay Leno’s train wreck back to the 11:30 hour it was presumed they would have discussed their impending plan with the principals invovled. Well you would be wrong. Apparently nobody told Conan and he is mad as hell and not going to take it anymore.  As we have previously noted, we think Jay Leno is one of the unfunniest people we have ever had to endure (is unfunny a word?)

In Conan’s own words…”Hello, my name is Conan O’Brien, and I may soon be available for children’s parties,”  quoted O’Brien on Tuesday’s edition of “The Tonight Show.”

“Welcome to NBC where our new slogan is, ‘No longer just screwing up prime-time,'” O’Brien said. “When I was a little boy, I remember watching ‘The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson’ and thinking, ‘Someday, I’m going to host that show for seven months.’

Andaz opening at 75 Wall Street

Posted in Uncategorized by blogwing on 01/13/2010

We rarely venture out on Monday nights, and even more rare are the number of times we find ourselves at Wall Street in the evenings. But there we were Monday night at 75 Wall Street for the Opening/Housewarming of Andaz. We were invited by our friend Kyle Hotchkiss Carone of Syndicate PR-the same agency that handles the Rose Bar. The crowd was great and the biggest surprise was that we actually ate the food. We usually just drink ourselves silly, but couldn’t pass up foie gras or the numerous desserts. Others seen scarfing down the free eats included: Rochelle Lee, Anisha Lakhani, Shawn and Shane Ward, Tim Morehouse, Jesper Lannung, Billy Farrell and Derek Hester.
