Rufus Wainwright private concert at Rose Bar

Posted in Uncategorized by blogwing on 03/16/2010

Last night we attended the Rufus Wainwright performance at Rose Bar. It was a busy evening for us as we stopped by the Tools for Thought Benefit to rebuild Haiti at Sotheby’s, and the Gotham Magazine party with Alicia Keyes beforehand.

Rufus’s piano was placed right in front of Rose’s fireplace to which he made some jokes about being thrown in should we not like his performance. The crowd was star studded and included: Drew Barrymore, Lucy Lui, Scarlett Johansson (where oh where is your hot hubby Ryan Reynolds?) Allan Cumming, Michael Kors, Nur Khan, Susan Sarandon, Zachary Quinto, Christian Siriano, Emma Snowdon-Jones, Anisha Lakhani and probably many more that we are forgetting. We really do love New York. We had seen Patti Smith perform an hour earlier and now we got to witness a private performance by the amazing Rufus Wainwright with 300 other special guests.

Corey Haim has died

Posted in Uncategorized by blogwing on 03/10/2010

File this under not to shocking, but still very sad. Corey Haim died in an apparent overdose while staying at his mother’s house. The actor was 38 years old. We wonder if he will be included in the next year’s Oscar remembers montage?  This year they snubbed Farrah Fawcett and Bea Arthur so we are not holding our breaths….

Betty White confirms SNL appearance

Posted in Uncategorized by blogwing on 03/09/2010

We recently wrote about the Betty White campaign that began on Facebook.  The group was founded to ask Lorne Michaels to have Betty host SNL. Well it seems somebody heard us and Betty White confirmed that she will indeed be appearing on SNL in the future.  You go Betty!  In related troubling news, as we typed in Betty White into google the first thing that automatically appeared after was the word dies!  What’s up with that?

Yep, He’s Gay-Sean Hayes finally comes out

Posted in Uncategorized by blogwing on 03/08/2010

Confirming what we had suspected all along, Sean Hayes officially comes out in the newest edition of the Advocate.  Although never confirming that he was gay, he claims that he was never in.  We call this the Ricky Martin defense.  Well better late than never.
