Olympics 2010 end with a yawn
The 2010 Vancouver Olympics ended last night. For hockey the ending came with a big bang, when Canada prevailed in OT over the USA, while the closing ceremonies held no such excitement. The closing ceremonies featured famous Canadian icons in full blimp size including mounties, maples leafs, beavers and moose and featured dull-non humorous speeches from “famous” Canadian celebrities (almost an oxymoron). Those celebs Canadians included William Shatner, Michael J. Fox, Catherine O’Hara and a mountie clad Michael Buble, lip syncing with the best of them. The rest of the world was most likely glad to bid this Olympic a fond farewell, and not just for the cringe worthy closing ceremonies, more likely they wanted to get out of Dodge, since the USA won 37 total medals and Canada won 14 Gold Medals, both Olympic Records. See you in 2012!
