The other night we were invited to Tommy Rom’s birthday party at the Box. If you know Tommy, you know it was not a simple affair. The party featured a cocktail hour, a seated dinner along with performances by Box regulars as well as world renowned pianist Vassily Primakov, and even a gift bag! We were thrilled when some of our favorites were guests as well including: Marie Lafrance, Kipton Cronkite, Patrick Duffy, Simon Hammerstein, Piper Perabo and Michael Warner. So tonight’s event just keeps getting better and better. We already have Eve Salvail spinning, known as DJ Evalicious, and open bar courtesy of Moet & Chandon and Skyy vodka. Now a big announcement-Allan Cumming will be making a surprise appearance/performance at the event. We also are featuring an insane silent auction including this item garnered from our own Emma Snowdon-Jones personally handed to her by Gabriel Byrne. It is a signed copy by all the stars of the movie the “Usual Suspects” along with a signed copy of the script. Be prepared to bid high tonight and remember it all goes to an amazing cause!
Last night Lady Gaga performed at Radio City Music Hall in her first show of four at the venue. We have yet to see any queens talking about it on facebook so nothing to report as of yet. We are going Gaga ourselves on Sunday and will surely share our thoughts with you on Monday. (Image courtesy of Wire Image)
Apparently Dwayne Johnson, known to wrestling fans the world over as the Rock, is in New York city plugging his newest movie, “Tooth Fairy.” The movie looks dopey, but Mr. Johnson will probably make it a hit. He has a goofy charm and you can’t look at the guy without smiling, to say he is easy on the eyes is an understatement. If anybody knows him, tell him to come to our benefit at 1OAK tonight. We can dream can’t we? (Images courtesy of Wire Image)
Say what you will about Jennifer Lopez, bad actress, bad singer, dancer, regardless, the woman gives good face. We attended the book launch party for make up artist Scott Barnes’ “About Face,” and were able to view Mrs. Anthony up close and personal. Well as up close as mere mortals are allowed to get. Her security detail rivals President Obama’s for sure. Whenever she made a move, 8 burly guards would clear a path for her and set out ropes on either side of her so that she would not risk touching the hoi polloi. Others bowing at her Louboutins included: Kelly Rowland, Cheyenne Jackson, Wendy Williams, Judith Light, Kat Deluna, Christian Simonds, Gillian Hearst-Simonds, Christoper Megale, Klitos Teklos and Taylor Hendrich. Susan Sarandon has graciously joined our Rebuild Haiti committee. If you are in New York City, 1Oak will be the place to be tonight. We are so excited for the evening and are even more excited to raise a ton of money. Designer Pamella Roland has already pledged $20,000. If you can’t attend, please visit the red cross website and make a donation or you can simply text Haiti to 90999.
