Even though the posters for Glee have the cast members cheekily holding up their fingers making an L sign, which we all know means loser, the show is out to change that strategy. It has just been announced that not only will Kurt be getting a boyfriend this season, but instead of being ostracized, the couple will be embraced by their school and actually be (gasp!) popular. Think Brad and Angelina, Jennifer and whomever she is dating at the moment, Josh and Fergie-without the cheating, Gavin and Gwen-without the cheating, you get the picture….
We have our tickets for this Sunday’s Gaga concert at Radio City Music Hall and we must admit we haven’t been this excited since Britney’s Circus last year. We are keeping fingers crossed that there is no exhaustion, dehydration or cancellation this time! In the meantime, go to Gaga’s site and buy this nifty shirt. All proceeds are going to the victims in Haiti.
Just when you thought it can’t get any gayer, Glee takes another leap over the rainbow. First there came the announcements that both Jennifer Lopez and Justin Timberlake will make appearances in the next season. Hot off these announcements, comes the news that Joss Whedon-of Buffy Fame-will direct Neil Patrick Harris in an upcoming episode. Our panties are in a bunch, our hose are around our knees and our bras are all atwist with this latest news. And by the way we picked Glee in our Golden Globes pool and that pick was pivotal in our eventual win! (everybody else chose Modern Family-a worthy adversary for sure)
We love Johnny Depp. He is a fabulous actor and handsome as hell, although he seems to go out of his way sometimes to make himself look like crap. Not this time. He appears on the latest GQ cover shirtless and not looking in need of a shower. The issue features the 50 Most Stylish Men of the last 50 years.
Meryl Streep is the new queen of the Golden Globes as her win for best actress in a comedy or musical for “Julie & Julia” gives her seven statuettes to the half dozen owned by Jack Nicholson and Angela Lansbury. We love Meryl Streep and would probably go to the movies to see her read the phone book. One of our favorite moments was her very long speech, you knew the orchestra was never in a million years going to start playing her off the stage, until she was done!
Like everyone else, we were heartbroken by the devastation that hit Haiti last week and thought what can we do. Before we can even begin to think we received a message from our friend Emma Snowdon-Jones about putting together a benefit. She had contacted her friend Nigel Barker who has actually shot a film on Haiti and in the past held a fundraiser to build a school there and the ball was rolling. We secured a venue with 1OAK and our friend Eve Salvail, also known as DJ Evalicious agreed to spin. We decided to hold a silent auction/online auction at the same time and the items came pouring in as well. So if you are in New York this Thursday won’t you stop by 1OAK from 9 to 11, if you can’t stay, make a donation. All proceed are going to EDEYO and Concern Worldwide. We are suggesting a donation of $40 at the door. There will be surprise performances and we have a pretty star studded committee including: Gabriel Byrne, Terry George, Estelle, Emma Snowdon-Jones, Scott Buccheit, Nigel Barker, Amy Sacco, Anne Vincent, Ranjana Khan, Gillian Hearst, Phillip Bloch, Danielle Thur, Scott Sartiano, Bettina Prentice, Richie Akiva, Ronnie Madra, Jeffrey Jah, Thom Felicia, David Barton and Constantine Maroulis.
