Manhattan Magazine launch at the Gates

Posted in Uncategorized by blogwing on 10/08/2009

My final stop was the Manhattan Magazine launch at the Gates.  I love the Gates, it’s close to my house and I am an official Ambassador.  Which means I get a little card and drinks for free!  We hit the tail end of the party so we really didn’t see many people there but did run into Carolyn Klein of Modern Luxury, and our old friends Richie Rich and Joe Greene.

Porsche & Vanity Fair Celebrate the Launch of the Porsche Panamera

Posted in Uncategorized by blogwing on 10/08/2009

My second stop last night was at Skylight Studios to celebrate the launch of the Porsche Panamera and the History of Porsche-Design Uncompromised. Wow that’s a mouthful. To tell the truth nobody cared about the cars, the event featured Veuve Clicquot champagne, the cars were secondary. Others seen swilling champagne and using very expensive automobiles as photo props included: Eric West, Demitrios Kambouris, Bai Ling (i checked my pockets afterwards to make sure i had my wallet), Doug Marshall, Designer Keith Lissner, VF writer-George Wayne and The Fashion Daily’s Louis Sarmiento.

Legendary photographer Irving Penn has died at the age of 92.  We have lost a true master.  He worked right up until the end.  Am surprised he didn’t die on set.

Sony VAIO party at Gustavino’s

Posted in Uncategorized by blogwing on 10/08/2009

Last night I attended the Sony VAIO party presented by Paine|PR and our friend Jackson Jeyanayagam. The party was held at Gustavino’s uptown. The party had a circus theme, I am seeing a trend. Once inside we were treated to the site of A&E’s Tattoo Highway husband and wife team-Thomas Pendleton and Monica Rizzolo-actually giving someone a Sony tattoo. (Now that’s brand loyalty!) There was also a performance of a goth version of the Pussycat Dolls and a very homo-erotic aerialist performance. Others who came to support the festivities (i.e. get a free laptop) included Today’s Natalie Morales,ex-star-Starr Jones, the newly unemployed-Mischa Barton, Twilight’s Peter Facinelli, DJ Kiss, Real Mess of New York Jill Zarin, Tyra Bank’s handler-Nigel Barker, stage crasher-Lil Mama, and who knew he was still around-Larenz Tate.

Am almost tempted to go to this….

carnival-opening

Ok I just received this invite. Am really almost tempted to go. Unlike most people I actually like Paris and her sister Nicky. They worked on an event with me years ago and were both sweet and generous. Why Paris chooses to act like a total moron most of the time is beyond me.  The party is appropriately titled Carnival.  Maybe Paris will show off her sword swallowing ability-couldn’t help myself.  Am not totally ruling out stopping by. Check tomorrow to see what I decided

This can’t be real-can it??
